We offer microscope slides of selected, micromanipulated Diatoms for scanning electron microscope (SEM) or Atomic force microscope (AFM), with Species list. After payment, please contact us if your microscope cannot accommodate standard microscope slides (26 mm x 76mm), since it is possible to mount our Diatoms on a smaller support (for example 18mm x 18mm).
The header and footer of this website are derived from electron microscope (SEM) images made by Alex Hyde, who photographed some slides produced by Diatom Lab. We can also produce SEM images, however, we believe that microscope images taken by others clearly demonstrate the quality of our products.
Diatoms are attached to the underside of the cover glass by means of Diatom Lab's unique NANO-ADHESIVE. This ensures all the finest Diatom details such as areolae, poroids, striae and so on, are always perfectly clean, regardless of the technique used, with the additional benefit that there are no traces, stains or swipe-marks caused by fixatives typically seen on some older preparations. Our NANO-ADHESIVE is therefore used to create a clean background for our SEM specimen preparations.
